Türk-İş, a federation of Turkish Worker Unions, in Ankara is calculating since 1987 the Limits of Hunger and Poverty on the base of ILO (International Labour Organization) directives.   Die Volkswirtschaftslehre ist ein Hauptzweig in der Sozialwissenschaftslehre. Es befasst sich überwiegend mit Zahlen welche das Volk direkt oder indirekt beeinflussen bzw. einwirken. Somit ist die Volkswirtschaftslehre stark an Mathematik angelehnt. Für Sozialwissenschaften ist es nicht möglich das Volk in einem Labor zu "testen" (obwohl manche Staaten dies versucht bzw versuchen; siehe dazu 3.Reich Deutschland). In der Chemie kann man im Labor testen aber in der Volkswirtschaft ist dies nicht erwünscht. Man stelle sich vor, ein Land macht den Labor-Test ARM und REICH. Also zwei Mengen von Einwohnern, die erste Gruppe ARM und die zweite Menge REICH. Um die Reichen noch reicher zu machen wird durch Staatspolitik Reichtum zu Gunsten der Reichen von den Armen entbehrt und die Armen Gruppe mit allen möglichen Mitteln vom Wohlstand verhindert.
